Mandatory language for this Mystic musical tradition : Farsi (Persian language which is the oldest one in this area).

Persian Sufism was forbidden in Islam and seen as heretic. Sufism revives Zoroastrianism, with music, dance and poems. It had some influence in India and a pre-Islamic tradition (Sultanic, before the rise of the Ottoman Empire).

Sufism often celebrates separation with God as a divine aspect of becoming self-conscious as a human being. It's like cutting the umbilical cord spirtually to live in this material world. The aim being the longing for the Divine Source again. It's a sort of melancholic feeling for God that is not in the material world.
